About Us

Xeni Alexandrou and Andrea Rama met in Athens in 2009 and live in Berlin since 2013. Together they found the dance company Porson's Khashoggi.
Their artistic work is designed either as a duo or in the form of individual projects with the support of the respective partner choreographer, as well as in close association with several cooperators. By using movement, light, scenography and body installation, performative interventions and various materials, their work deliberately undermines the constructs of time and thus any categorisation or stipulation in the broadest sense.

Porson’s Khashoggis choreographies have been performed at various venues in Germany (Berlin, Bonn, Leipzig, Karlsruhe, Reutlingen) and Luxembourg and have made guest appearances in Italy, Finland, Poland, France (Paris, Metz, Annonay), the Netherlands, Greece (Athens , Chania, Volos, Corfu, Patras) and China (Shanghai).
From 2010 to 2013 Xeni Alexandrou and Andrea Rama directed the performance space “Perfect Massin” they jointly founded in Athens, a place for dance that held residencies, workshops, lectures and the dance festival “New Creators Fest” for five editions in a row.

For eight years Andrea Rama has been developing and teaching his “Open Possibilities” method as a guest teacher at dance companies and at various institutions, including the Henny Jurriëns Foundation Amsterdam, Tanzfabrik Berlin, Marameo Berlin, Seneca Intensiv Berlin, Heidelberg State Theater, Pforzheim State Theater, Equilibrio Dinamico Italy, TanzBüro Basel, the Choreographic Center Luxembourg, Centrum Kultury Lublinie & Szczecin, Minsheng Contemporary Museum Shanghai, State Balet School Tirana-Albania, Jo-Jo Oulu Dance Center Finland, ZKM Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe, HfG Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe, Kulturzentrum Tempel Karlsruhe as well as at various training centers in Belgium, Austria and Athens – Greece.

Xeni Alexandrou took part in 2019 in Studiolab program of the choreographic center “La Ménagerie de Verre” in Paris, France, for the implementation and rehearsals of her project “Yiyl“.

Andrea Rama is awarded with the ARTWORKS Fellowship and is a scholarship holder of the Akademie der Künste for the project “Appointments”: The focus of the project is on bringing together groups of students from different social backgrounds.

For the last two years Andrea Rama is the Artistic Director of the @Tirana_InteranationalFestival, organizing the first music, dance and theatre festival in public spaces and at the central amphitheater in Tirana, Albania, with the support of the Tirana Municipality, The National Agency for Diaspora, the Goethe Institute and the German Embassy in Albania.
